OYOSUBEB Chair, Adeniran Pays Tribute To Late Olunloyo

The Executive Chairman, Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran has paid tribute to the former Governor of old Oyo State, Dr. Victor Omololu Sowemimo Olunloyo’s remarkable academic and professional journey.
Dr. Adeniran, extended sympathies to the Olunloyo family and all who knew and respected the late elder statesman and scholar.
Adeniran said late Dr. Olunloyo had a fervent belief in education as a transformative tool for national development.
Reflecting on the former governor’s tenure, Adeniran recalled that his father, Hon. Adeniran served as a House of Assembly member during Olunloyo’s tenure.
Adeniran said, “I became a staunch follower of Dr. Olunloyo, when he served as the governor. During this time, my father was a member of the Oyo State House of Assembly.”
The OYOSUBEB boss in a condolence message on Sunday, applauded the former governor for his display of high knowledge, and in-depth analysis of the Nigerian constitution.
He said Olunloyo was committed to the development of Oyo state, emphasising that his contributions will remain in the annals of history.
Adeniran stated, “My several encounters with Dr. Olunloyo was full of insights. When I was a Local Government Chairman, Dr. Olunloyo had constructive conversations with me in my office, many times.”
He said Dr. Olunloyo will be celebrated for his brilliance and foundational contributions to applied mathematics and number theory.
Adeniran noted that he had extensive knowledge of pure legal principles, despite not being a lawyer.
“Until his death in the early hours of Sunday, 6 April, 2025, the late Dr. Omololu Olunloyo lived a quiet life in retirement, away from public glare”, he noted.
Dr. Adeniran concluded his condolences by commiserating with His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, the Government and good people of Oyo State for this great loss of the former governor of the State.
He asked the Almighty God to grant Olunloyo eternal rest and give his family the fortitude to bear the great loss.
