The face behind the Eko Oni Baje is Ozo Chinedu Idezuna, popularly known as (Ezemuo Africa), born on 18th August, 1970, ending the Biafran war. Ozo Chinedu Idezuna started his primary school education in 1977, the year Nigeria hosted FESTAC ’77’.

Right from infancy, young Chinedu had shown that he was a mentally precious child. History had it that he was a young child bubbling with many artistic vigour and energy, ever ready to learn, know, discover and create. A born artist with many artistic works to his credit, Ozo Chinedu Idezuna in (2003) established Castledown Art Centre, which he registered with the Lagos State Council for Arts and Culture.

His aim is promoting tourism, arts, and culture heritage of our people using same as a tool for national unity and cultural integration based in Eleko area of Lagos State. Since then, Ozo Chinedu Idezuna has continued with his dream using arts to create peaceful coexistence among different tribal nationalities in Nigeria.

Ozo Chinedu Idezuna is the convener of the yearly Eko Oni Baje New Yam & Beach Festival. Idezuna has also used the yearly New Yam festival to foster unity, peace and love among different ethnic groups in Nigeria. Since then, the yearly event, which was introduced 12years ago, has been growing from strength to strength.

Ozo Chinedu Idezuna does not want yam planting and cultivation to go into extinction, which is why he brought this into existence.

Ozo Idezuna is a cheerful giver of no mean feat; he loves helping people around him particularly the less privileged in the society, which is why he has been getting moral and financial support in return from well-meaning Nigerians to sustain Castledown Arts Centre despite series of crackdown on the centre and his works.
