Pa Boniface Omumu Laid To Rest Amid Eulogies

 

Umudinaro Umuoparaoma, Ezeagbogu village in Ezinihitte Mbaise, Imo State, on Tuesday 3rd January, 2023, witnessed a huge crowd of symphatisers from far and near, who thronged for the burial of Pa Boniface Irodinna Omumu.

Pa Boniface Omumu, who was popularly known as Acharaoma, began his final journey on Monday 2nd January with a Wake at his compound.

On Tuesday morning, his remains in a motorcade, were moved from the morgue to his compound for a brief lying in state, where family, associates, relatives, in-laws and symphatisers paid their last respect.

Thereafter, Pa Boniface Omumu was received at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ezeagbogu, Ezinihitte Mbaise, for a Requiem Mass.

After the Requiem Mass, the motorcade moved to his compound for interment. This was followed by the entertainment of dignitaries, in-laws, guests and symphatisers, who came from abroad and within Nigeria.

Speaking with P.M.EXPRESS, one of his sons, Ikechukwu Henry Omumu, said that his father will be sorely missed especially for his timely wise counsels.

“I’ll surely miss my dad! I thank the Almighty God anyway for giving him the rare privilege of getting up to 90 years and beyond.”

“The truth is that he’s been there for his children at all times and we’ll certainly miss his words of wisdom and timely pieces of advice. My community will equally miss him because he has always identified with the people and worked towards the development of the community at large. He has tried his best and we can only take the baton, keep his memories alive and move on strongly” Ikechukwu Omumu concluded.

 

Pa Boniface Omumu passed on aged 95 years.
