A 54-year old Pastor Udoh Okon of the Christ Abiding Church, Shomolu, has been arrested for allegedly defiling his neighbour’s 9-year old girl in his wife’s shop in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at the pastor’s wife’s shop located at 17 Bankole Street, Famous bus stop, Shomolu area of Lagos where his church was located.

Akwa Ibom State-born Okon was said to have repeatedly engaged the victim in sex romps since last year until the victim opened up and confessed to his mother.

The father of three who claimed that he had been a minister of God for 30 years and got married 25 years ago with three children, was paraded by the Lagos Commissioner of Police, CP Imohimi Edgal at the State Command, Lagos.

While parading the suspect, the police boss said that the Command recorded a case of defilement which was reported at the Pedro Police Station, Shomolu on 18th April, 2018. He said that the complainant noticed her daughter’s unusual behaviours while the little girl was sleeping and checked her private. It was discovered that the semen was coming out from her private part.

The alarmed mother woke her up and asked her who was behind the act. The little girl revealed that it was Pastor Okon who had been having carnal knowledge of her since last year.

CP Edgal further stated that the victim revealed that it was inside the pastor’s wife’s shop that Okon had been defiling her. He said that the matter was then reported to the police, the suspect was arrested and detained at the police station for interrogations. During the interrogations, the suspect denied the allegation. However, the medical examination conducted on the girl revealed that her hymen had been ruptured long ago.

The CP said that further investigations were being conducted on the matter and the suspect will be charged to court. CP Edgal advised parents to keep eyes on their children as the Command will not hesitate to arrest negligent parents and prosecute them according to the law.

When P.M.EXPRESS contacted Pastor Okon, he swore that he did not do what was being alleged but did not explain why he was the only person mentioned in the area. Pastor Okon said that it was just a ploy by his enemies to destroy his spiritual powers.
