A cleric, Pastor James, has landed in trouble after he set aside his pastorial calling and allegedly hired three soldiers to eliminate his opponent, one Igantanure Emmanuel, over a Court matter in Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Adeboye Street, Otto Awori area of Lagos, where they reside.
Police sources stated that Pastor James and the complainant, Emmanuel, had a disagreement and the matter is before the Ojo Magistrates Court with Suit Number Oj/2/21 over an undisclosed matter.
The matter, which started since 2021, has lingered and it appeared that the victim, Emmanuel, has advantage and might win the case against Pastor James.
Worried over the evidence before the Court, Pastor James was said to have arranged soldiers, targeted, attacked Emmanuel and injured him before he was rescued and taken to the hospital for treatment.
The alleged attack was reported to the Police and Pastor James was arrested and subsequently charged before the Ojo Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.
When he was arraigned, he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Ekpo Edet, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. T. A. Popoola, granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.
However, he was remanded in custody pending when he will perfect his bail conditions while the matter was adjourned pending when the new Magistrate will resume work due to general transfer of Magistrates in Lagos State.
