Probably, Mrs. Celine Ekeh and Miss Ugochi, would have allowed Anthony Ekeh, their husband and father respectively, to sell their family house and sow the proceeds as seed in his church as directed by the General Overseer and the wife.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the house in question is located at Vineyard Street off Sewage Road, Jakande in Oke-Afa, Isolo area of Lagos, where Mr. Ekeh lives with his family.

The founder and General Overseer of the Discipleship Christian Fellowship located at 13 Eckanker Street, Jakande Ejigbo, Lagos, Pastor Chinedu Nwaoha and his wife, Prophetess Ndidiamaka, were said to have reportedly directed Mr. Anthony Ekeh to sell his house and pay the money into the Church account.

However, his wife, Mrs. Celine Ekeh and daughter, Ugochi, were said to have resisted the move, reported the alleged plan to the Police and it eventually failed after the police intervened.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that it was during the crisis, that some members of the church, who had suffered some kind of exploitation and humiliation through the Pastor’s false prophecies, then opened up and told the police about their ordeal in the church.

Some of the victims, who accused the Church of shortchanging them included, Mrs. Ukamaka Anowai, who alleged that she was hypnotized and made to lose her four children to the church.

Others were Mrs. Mary Nweke and Mrs. Juliana Oriala, who told the Police that the church abducted her sister while the money reportedly sent to Mrs. Oriala by her sister living abroad was taken from her. Another set of victims were Mrs. Mary Essiet and Mr. Onyekachi Kalu, who alleged that Pastor Nwaoha abducted his 89-year old father, Mr. Linus Kalu, forced him to go to their village and sell all his properties and then bring the money to the church.

Pastor Nwaoha and his wife, Ndidiamaka, has instituted a case against  the aforementioned members at the Lagos High Court alleging that the defendants made false statements to the Police at the Special Fraud Unit, Milverton, Lagos, where they were interrogated over the alleged scam.
Hence the claimants in the suit number 40952/2018 before the Ikeja High Court averred that they collectively and severally suffered immense damages sequel to the defamatory publication by the defendants and asked for N30m as damages.
The Pastor and his wife also prayed the Court to grant an injunction against further publications and give an order compelling the defendants to tender an apology published in a National Newspaper circulating within Lagos State environment refuting the erroneous publications.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the matter has been referred to the Alternative Dispute Resolution, ADR, and the case is coming up on 18th June, 2019.
