The Former Senator who represented Kogi West Senatorial district and Director General to Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello and Chief David Onoja joint ticket in the All  Progressive’s Congress,APC, Sen. Smart Adeyemi has said the People’s Democratic Party does not have Candidate in the forthcoming Governorship Election.
Senator Adeyemi, who addressed newsmen at the State Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, said by implication the PDP cannot boast of having a democratically elected candidate following the way and manner the Governorship primaries abruptly ended and as such was inconclusive.
The DG went further to pick out some of the lapses and weaknesses of the ‘dying party’, saying the opposition party was ridden in crisis and cannot come out of it before the general election.
He referred to the interview granted by the acclaimed Candidate of the PDP on AIT, berating the performances of the present governor, noting that no governor has beat the outstanding record of the present governor of Kogi State except the founding father, late Prince Abubakar Audu, he confidently boasted.
“Musa Wada of PDP was on the popular television programme on AIT known as Kaakaki, in which he spoke on his perception of the state of affairs in the state, What is apparent in the entire discussion was his disconnect with events and shortage of information and unintelligently goofed.
Senator Adeyemi further said the  party is already rejected by some stakeholders who turn down their Appointments to serve in the campaign coucil of the PDP.
“For instance the father in law to the candidate declined the position to serve as Chairman, Campaign council while Senator Dino Melaye and Clarence Olafemi turned down their offers, its campaign public communications head, Mr. Majeed Dahiru resigned from the committee, the PDP elders in the state have also dissociated themselves from the campaign,
who remains in the dead party” he asked.
The senator opined that the major setback of the PDP is the court cases, Abubakar Ibrahim Idris and other three cases are waiting to stop the acclaimed candidate from contesting, because they are all seeking an enforcement to change the outcome of the inconclusive primaries that produced him. The party leadership are yet to sheathe their swords”, he stressed.
Adeyemi asked,” how can a man who wants to govern Kogi State says his Senatorial District Kogi East can singlehandedly decide who govern the state? This unguided and unwarranted statements has indicated that his Running Mate, Samuel Aro,  Acting Director General, T. J Yusuf and other stakeholders in PDP in the West should resign and dump the man, who has neglected the votes coming from their zone, Kofi West”.
“So for any candidate to be the Governor of the state he must be able to acquire a support base spanning the three or at least two Senatorial districts” Adeyemi said.
According to him,” What is clear is that the man is a novice in governance which is obvious by his contradictory statement on the development in Kogi State
The present Governor has done so much in terms of infrastructural developments several projects were executed especially the rice mill in Ejiba, Omi dam, roads construction and several notable projects in the state”.
Sen. Adeyemi however appealed to the electorates in the state to massively support governor YAHAYA Bello and Edward Onoja in the forthcoming Election.
