PERFECTION AFFORDABLE HOUSING CONFERENCE HOLDS IN LAGOS

 

Perfection Real Estate Investors Cooperative Society – an independent membership based real estate club , on Tuesday February 27, 2018, held a conference at Lagos Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Alausa, Ikeja Lagos.

The conference was to showcase available exceptional home ownership and real estate income opportunities, and how individuals can tap into their various home ownership schemes. It was also an opportunity for them to highlight to the public their recent Perfection Betoniq Housing Scheme – collaboration between them and Betoniq JV Nigeria Limited.

Mr. Niyi Adeleye – President, Perfection Real Estate Investors Cooperative Society, in his speech said that the real estate society was partnering with Betoniq JV Nigeria Limited to offer quality and very affordable homes to Nigerians. He said that it was on record that Nigeria had remained in shortage of an excess of 17 million housing units and it will cost the government tens of trillions of Naira to bridge the gap – meaning that we were still far behind as it concerned home ownership. Mr. Niyi however expressed confidence that once the lines were dotted and scheme commenced in full swing that houses will be delivered speedily to the people because of the building technology that Betoniq JV Nigeria Limited will be bringing on board.

In a chat with P.M.EXPRESS, the MD of Betoniq JV Nigeria Limited, AVM Monday Morgan (Rtd), said that his company in collaboration with their German partners were bringing on board precast concrete technology that makes it easier and faster to deliver quality buildings in large numbers. He explained that his company will provide 30% equity in collaboration with Zenith Bank PLC, while their German partner – Ferrostaal Equipment Solutions GmbH in collaboration with German Commerz Bank will provide 70%. AVM Morgan also mentioned that Betoniq JV Nigeria Limited recently signed an agreement with Akwa Ibom State Government for the setting up of a technical vocation centre for the transfer of technology to Nigerians.

The Special Guest Speaker, Dr. Manuel Probst – representative of the German Commerz Bank and Ferrostaal Equipment Solutions GmbH (funders and the equipment procurement project coordinators), in his speech said that the collaboration had the backing of the German government and through Betoniq JV Nigeria Limited affordable houses of German standard will be delivered with German technology by Nigerians.

Barrister Celestine Nwankwo, the Secretary – Perfection Real Estate Investors Cooperative Society, in his speech explained that the society is about participation, wealth creation, home ownership and collaborations. He said that once a member gets registered and can maintain his monthly contributions over a period of six months that the member is entitled to ask for loan. And with N2,000 per share regular monthly contribution, that a member can key into the home ownership schemes according to the category of membership.

The conference attracted stakeholders in the real sector and people who want to key into the home ownership schemes. Also present at the event was Mr. Tom Iseghohi (former Group MD Transcorp PLC), who is also part of Betoniq JV Nigeria Limited.
