Lagos athletes rejoice with the chairman of Lagos State Sports Commission, Dr Kweku Tandoh during the closing ceremony of National Youth Games at University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Kwara State
The just concluded 4th National Youth Games in Ilorin, Kwara State would be adjudged as one of the best outings of Lagos State teams in this category of Nigeria’s school sports competitions.
The authority governing sports in state, the Lagos State Sports Commission headed by Dr Kweku Adedayo Tandoh organised a compact outing for the athletes in Ilorin. While effort was made for the athletes to put up results oriented performance on the field of play, concerted effort was also put in place for them to feel the tournament off field.
At the end of it all, Team Lagos won a total of 60 medals comprise 23 gold, 15 silver and 22 bronze medals, finished in the second position behind Delta State. This, the chairman described as excellent performance.
To show his love for the athletes, the chairman of Lagos State Sports Commission, Dr Tandoh rode in the convoy of vehicles that took Team Lagos contingent back to Lagos early on Monday.
