Two suspects, Ahmed Akinade, and Taye Adebisi  arrested for engaging in a criminal activity of pick-pocketing have confessed that the business was profitable as it does not require capital to start in Lagos.
They said what was  required for the business was only cutlass and axes which enable them to rob their targets on the road and bus stops.
Akinade, who spoke and confirmed by Adebisi, said they have been long in the pickpocket business and cannot do any other thing to sustain their life.
He revealed that they are three member-gang who operate at the bus stops in Magboro area and usually strike early in the morning and evening.
He said when they initially started, they were not  using weapons to intimidate their targets until recently when they started encountering challenges as people now more vigilant at the bus stops.
He denied that they have killed some of their targets and admitted they have attacked  and shed blood.

A victim of pickpocket attack

He said before police arrested them that morning, they have already robbed two victims and it was the third victim who they inflicted injury that caused their arrest.
The police arrested the suspects at Magboro at the bus stop after they attacked their victim and wanted to rob him.
Unknown the them the police undercover was monitoring their activity and immediately arrested the two suspects, one of the gang identified as Abbey escaped.
The police also recovered cutlasses, axes and toy gun as exhibits.
They were paraded at the Lagos State police Command, Ikeja, Lagos by the Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Owoseni, who assured that the suspects will be charged to court after the conclusion of investigation.
