Police Arrest 2 Notorious Robbers Who Use Pepper On Victims During Operations

Police operatives from the Lagos State Command have finally arrested two notorious members of an armed robbery gang, Ayuba Oyegbele and Ojo Gbolahan, who allegedly used powdered pepper as weapon to rob victims during operations.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspects were arrested at Ogo Oluwa, Alagbado area of Lagos while spraying pepper on a victim in order to rob him of a motorcycle before the operation failed and they were arrested.
The suspects had reportedly robbed one of their victims some days ago, when residents of Obasanjo Bridge area of Alagbado arrested and handed them over to the Police.
This was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP  Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the arrest of the suspects, while adding that the Police in the state are on the trail of other members of the gang.
Hundeyin stated : “On 15/02/24 at about 07: 30 hrs, a report was received from a motorcyclist that at about  06:30 hrs, two men, who were later identified as Ayuba Oyegbele and Ojo Gbolahan, stopped him at Ogo Oluwa, Alagbado that he should take them to Obasanjo bridge”.
“However, on getting to the Obasanjo bridge, Ojo Gbolahan came down and pretended as if he wanted to pay the motorcyclist. But instead, he brought out dry pepper and blew it into the rider’s eyes and in the process, the duo started dragging and beating the rider with the intention of robbing him of his motorcycle “
“Fortunately, the passers-by, who saw how the rider was shouting for help, came around to rescue him while the suspects made attempts to escape .They were overpowered and taken to Alagbado Police Station. Investigations revealed that the suspects are in the habit of robbing motorcyclists.”
The image maker stated that the suspects will be charged before Court for the alleged offence under the Criminal Laws of the State, which attracts several years of imprisonment but that will be after the conclusion of investigations by the Police.
