The Police intelligence team from the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba, Lagos, has arrested a 36-year old man, Mayowa Bamidele, for allegedly killing a lady, cutting her private parts into pieces and putting inside pot for cooking before he was caught in the act.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ijedodo Road, Ijegun area of Lagos, where the remains of the victim,  Mercy Itohan Ekienabor, was recovered.
Also arrested were three suspects Oluwakemi Azeez, 20, Oyedegun Adewale, 27 and Jejelaye Osusola, 22, over their alleged complicity in the murder of late Mercy Ekienabor.
Apart from putting some of the body parts in the pot to cook, he also put some inside a cement bag and kept in his room while the remaining parts were wrapped up in bed sheet and buried in an uncompleted building in the area.
The motive behind the murder was not disclosed by the Police, who got intelligence of what happened, stormed the house and recovered the body parts of the deceased as exhibits.
That led to the arrest the prime suspect, Bamidele and he was detained for interrogation over the dastardly act.
During interrogation, Bamidele implicated the other suspects and they were equally arrested for concealing the murder in order for Bamidele to escape justice.
The Police found them culpable and subsequently charged them before the Yaba Magistrates Court for conspiracy and murder.
However, when they were arraigned, the Court did not take their plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Supol Thomas Nurudeen, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. P.E. Nwaka, ordered their remand in the Correctional Centre pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.
The matter was adjourned pending when the DPP’s report will be ready, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
