Police operatives from the Ikotun Division of the Lagos State Command have arrested a 25-year old suspect, Demola Oladega, for allegedly vandalizing cables while his accomplices escaped and their operational motorcycle was recovered.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Oladega, was arrested at Governor’s Road, Ikotun area of Lagos, while his accomplices managed to escape after they had vandalized cables and other items. The Police were said to have accosted them while they tried to escape with the stolen items.
This was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed that one of the suspects, Oladega, is in Police custody undergoing interrogation over his alleged conduct.
He stated that on 16th October, 2024, at about 0630 hours, the Police at Ikotun Division received a distress call from a security man attached to a company on Governor’s Road in Ikotun that he suspected unusual movements of two young men with a motorcycle roving around the street.
“Based on the information, the DPO immediately mobilized the Anti-Robbery patrol team of the Division to the scene, where one of the suspects, Demola Oladega, was arrested while the other suspect fled.”
The image maker stated that the vandalized cables, one fairly used battery and Pongxing Motorcycle with registration number KSF 854QL were recovered from the suspects as exhibits.
He stated that efforts are ongoing to track the fleeing suspects and investigation is ongoing after which the suspect will be charged before the Court for the alleged offence under the Criminal Laws of the State.
