The police have made another head way in their bid to stamp out cultism after it arrested one of the most wanted cult leaders, Mr. Kanmi a.k.a Father in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect was arrested at Hassan Street, Ilasamaja area of Lagos during an operation led by the female DPO Ilasa Division, SP Oriyomi Oluwasanmi Titilayo

It was gathered that based on credible intelligence available to Lagos State Police Command, some cultists led by one Kanmi alias Father had planned to strike the Ilasamaja community on 29th March, 2018.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Imohimi Edgal directed the Divisional Police Officer of Ilasamaja, SP Titilayo to bring to an end the reign of the blood thirsty cult henchmen who had been terrorising the community for a long time, which become worse since Kanmi came back from prison.

The operation paid off at about 5pm that fateful day. Kanmi whose trade marks were said to be sorrow, tears and blood, arrived the community with his gang unknown to him that his ranks had been infiltrated by underground operatives of the Command.

The DPO and her team who were on standby for him and his gang, sighted Kanmi with two of his criminal  associates in a fight with a young man suspected to be a member of a rival  confraternity. It was said that Kanmi had lifted his machete to cut his rival before he was challenged by the police team. He immediately took to his heels but was pursued and arrested by the police.

He was whisked away and a locally made pistol loaded with two cartridges was recovered from him and kept at the police station as exhibit.

The operatives also arrested one Alami Samuel, 22, an associate of Kanmi. This was confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Chike Obi who said that the suspects were in police custody.

Obi said that the police boss, CP, Edgal
wishes to use this medium to warn all those who belonged to these nefarious  clandestine groups to renounce their membership or be arrested and dealt with according to the law.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that efforts were being made to arrest other members of the group who were said to be at large.
