It appears that there is no hiding place for criminals as police raided some criminal hideouts, arrested over 300 suspects and recovered hard drugs worth over N26m in Lagos.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspects were paraded by the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Imohimi Edagal on Friday at the Police Command, Ikeja, Lagos.
While parading the suspects, the police boss said that it was through the efforts of the Police Command and the good relationship with the public that the significant achievements had been made in the bid to reduce crime in the State.
He said on 20th April, 2018, that the creeks of Itowolo, Majiadun and Ajegunle areas were raided by the operatives of Anti-Cultism and kidnappers Squad of the Lagos State Police Command assisted by FSARS Ipakodo. The operatives raided and arrested 26 suspected cultists and kidnappers and equally recovered some arms and ammunition.
He hinted that some bags of substances suspected to be Indian hemp with a street value of about N7m was recovered from a makeshift structure in Ajegunle area. The owner of the structure and the bags of weed were said to be at large.
Edgal also stated that on 24th April, 2018, following reliable information received that one Toyota Sienna bus with registration number, GGE 88 EV driven by one Mudashiru Sulaimon, 32, was loaded with five bales of substance suspected to be Indian hemp. He said that on the same day, another Citreon bus with registration number, JJJ 301XV driven by one Olowo Owolabi, 32, was also loaded with 34 bales of the same Indian hemp.
The owner of the hard drug identified as Gafar Ademolake, 38 was arrested and he confessed that he was the owner of the drugs worth over N10m and revealed the he imported the drugs from Ghana through one Iya Ghana currently living in Mile 2 area of Lagos.
The Police Boss said that the suspected armed robbers, burglars and other criminal elements that were paraded will be charged to court after the conclusion of the investigations.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that some of the paraded suspects confessed while some complained that they did not commit any criminal offence.
