Police Bust Notorious Hard Drugs Joint In FESTAC Town, Recover Assorted Drugs

Operatives of the Lagos Police Commissioner’s Tactical Team Squad have busted a notorious hard drugs joint, arrested dealers and recovered assorted hard drugs as exhibits during the operation.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the three suspected dealers arrested included Biola Adeseun, 45, Idowu Shonekon, 30 and Hassan Rasheed, 50, for multiple offences related to the possession and distribution of substance suspected to be Indian Hemp at Apple Junction, FESTAC town, Lagos, on October 2, 2025.
According to the Police, they gathered intelligence information over the activities of the suspects and others now at large on how they turned the place into where they sell and distribute hard drugs across the Lagos State.
Thus, the Police operatives led by SP Banti Adamu coordinated the operation which turned out to be successful as the suspects were arrested and exhibits recovered during the operation that lasted for several hours.
The suspects were consequently charged before the Ogba Magistrate Court for conspiracy to commit felony under Section 411 of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015, unlawful possession of 130 packs of the substance, punishable under Section 329 and polluting the environment, selling/smoking the substance, violating Section 166(a)(b), breach of peace and  conduct likely to disturb public order, under Section 168(b) of the criminal law of the State.
The charges read:
“That you, Biola Adeseun ‘m’, Idowu Shonekon ‘m’, Hassan Rasheed ‘m’ others at large on the 2nd day of October, 2025, at about 2030hrs at Apple Junction area of FESTAC town, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit: unlawful possession of One Hundred and Thirty (130) packs of substance suspected to be Indian Hemp / Canadian Loud and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
COUNT II:”That you, Biola Adeseun ‘m’, Idowu Shonekon ‘m’, Hassan Rasheed ‘m’ others at large on the same date, time and place in the aforesaid Magisterial District, did have under your control and possession One Hundred and Thirty (130) packs of substance suspected to be Indian Hemp / Canadian Loud and when accosted by the Police you were unable to give satisfactory accounts of how you came in possession of the aforesaid substance and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 329 of the criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
COUNT III: That you, Biola Adeseun ‘m’, Idowu Shonekon ‘m’,Hassan Rasheed ‘m’ others at large on the same date, time and place in the aforesaid Magisterial District, did sell / smoke substance suspected to be Indian Hemp / Canadian Loud by polluting the atmosphere and making the environment and the community harmful for a healthy living for the people in the vicinity / environment and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 166(a)(b) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
COUNT IV:”That you, Biola Adeseun ‘m’, Idowu Shonekon ‘m’, Hassan Rasheed ‘m’ others at large on the same date, time and place in the aforesaid Magisterial District, did conduct yourselves in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by selling / smoking substance to be Indian Hemp / Canadian Loud and thereby committed and offence punishable under Section 168(b) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
However,  they pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Supol Philip Ademigbuji, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, granted them bail with sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
