It was a success story at the weekend after the police team at Idimu Division led by the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, Solomon Fayomi foiled three robbery operations and recovered  two short guns and live ammunitions in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the police also recovered three motorcycles and other dangerous weapons abandoned by the robbers at various areas after a hot chase by the police attached to the Division.

It was learnt that a purse belonging to an unidentified woman containing her ATM card and other items was also recovered. According to police sources, the DPO had gone out with his team on routine checks at Saliat Bus stop along Egbeda/ Idimu Road when the robbers attempted to rob some banks and eatery joints in the area.

However, before they could succeed the police stormed the area, the robbers abandoned their motorcycle and took to their heels.

An eye witness told P.M.EXPRESS that the police refused to shoot the fleeing robbers to avoid casualties as innocent citizens were much around the scene.
While that was still in view, the police got another information that there was a robbery incident at Ejigbo and the robbers have moved to Idimu to continue their operations.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that unknown to the men of the under world who were operating on motorcycles, the police have blocked their exist route along Liasu Road at Council Bus Stop in Idimu. It was gathered that there was exchange of gun fire between the police and the robbers at Idimu, to the extent that the robbers abandoned their motorcycle and fled.

It was the same success story for the police at Agbole area of Idimu after the police intercepted another robber who abandoned his motorcycle with his gun and fled.

P.M.EXPRESS confirmed that arms and live ammunitions including the motorcycles were parked at the station when our correspondent visited there.
Efforts to speak with the DPO proved abortive as the DPO was said to be on patrol.
However, police sources confirmed the incident and declared that there was no hiding place for criminal elements in Alimosho Local Government Area.

The source at the station said that another suspected car snatcher was apprehended and handed over to SARS operatives for further investigation at the weekend also.
