The police at Idimu Division led by Fayomi Solomon has foiled another robbery operation after deadly armed robbers had invaded Diamond Estate

The incident happened on Thursday night at the estate located along Igando/iyana Iba expressway, Lagos.

It was confirmed that the robbers had already gained entrance into the estate after they broke part of the fence and entered through the hole.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the operation failed after the police team got the information, moved into the estate and they fled.

According to the residents, the estate was well fenced with security men at the gate. The robbers found it difficult to beat the security men and they resorted to breaking part of the wall.

A resident said it was when they observed that some part of the fence had been broken from outside and the robbers had already positioned to rob the residents before the police were alerted and the police responded immediately.

Some of the residents who spoke to P.M.EXPRESS commended the police for their prompt response which repelled the attack of the robbers.
It was gathered that such planned attack by the robbers had also failed in the past due to prompt police response.

When our correspondent visited the Area M Command, the Area Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Austine Akika confirmed the incident and said the command repelled the attack through prompt response.

Meanwhile, the police has started manhunt for the suspects believed to have come from Igando and Ayobo axis very close to the estate.
Police sources said it was through that route that the robbers escaped giving suspicion that they might live within those areas close to the river line.

It appeared that there was no breathing space for robbers to operate as several attempts they had made within the Lagos axis have so far failed through police prompt response.

Police sources said those achievements were possible due to the confidence the public had on the police by giving useful information which enabled the police to act.
