A Police Inspector, Ikechukwu Peter Uchegbulam, attached to the IGP Monitoring Unit, Ikeja Command, Lagos, has passed on after he reportedly slumped in the room of a popular hotel while on special duty in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the 43-year old late Uchegbulam, who hailed from Ngor Okpala, Imo State, was said to have gone to Abuja for an undisclosed special assignment and lodged in the hotel.
While in the hotel, he reportedly slumped at night and before help would come his way, he was already dead. Upon discovery, he was rushed to the hospital where the doctors certified him dead. His corpse was immediately moved and deposited at Ogwusiwo Mortuary in Ngor Okpala for autopsy report.
According to his elder brother, Mr Anayo Uchegbulam, the late Ikechukwu will be buried on 10th September, 2020, in his father’s compound in Umuoguawara Ndiokwu in Imerienwe Community in Ngor Okpala, Imo State.
The death of late Ikechukwu has thrown the Police Community, Lagos Command, into shock and mourning. Some of his colleagues described him as hardworking and dedicated officer, who discharged his duties professionally throughout the period he served in the Nigeria Police.He has also worked at FSARS as a superb operational officer before he was moved to IGP Monitoring Unit because of his high sense of professionalism.
When P.M.EXPRESS correspondent visited his residence at Dejo Adeleye Street off Omiyale, Ejigbo area of Lagos, his friends and family members were seen held up in shock over what happened. They described late Ikechukwu as man of peace, who related with his friends and family well with humility.
According to the family, the Wake will take place on Sunday 23rd August, 2020, at his residence in Ejigbo before his burial in his home town.
Ikechukwu was survived by his wife, daughter and family.
