Police Operatives from Olosun Division in Mushin, led by the DPO, SP Ayodele Arogbo, made a remarkable achievement after they intercepted a 39-year old robbery suspect, Ugochukwu Ebosie, who specialised in stealing vehicles in Lagos. P.M.EXPRESS reports that apart from arresting Ebosie, the Police also recovered a Honda City car with registration number KRD 755 AX, which he stole and wanted to sell at a paltry sum of N400,000 while the market value of the car was put at about N2.5m.
The incident happened at Mushin area of Lagos, where the suspect stole the car and drove it to Costain area, where he was negotiating with a buyer before the Police tracked and eventually arrested him.
It was gathered that Ebosie admitted that he stole the car in order to sell it, relocate to his hometown in Imo State and start a new life as he was tired of living in Lagos.
The incident was confirmed and disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana, who said that Ebosie was in the Police net in Lagos.
He said that on 15th September, 2019, at about 2035hours, one Dominic Ukaegbu, the Chief Security Officer of Farest Mercantile Company Limited, Mushin, reported at Mushin Police Station, that one Honda City saloon car with Reg No KRD 755 AX, belonging to the company was removed from the park at Fatai Atere Way in Mushin.
He said that on the strength of the report, detectives from Mushin Division launched a search for the stolen vehicle. The said vehicle was recovered along Western Avenue area of Surulere, Lagos. One Ebosie Ugochukwu was arrested while negotiating to sell the stolen car at the rate of four hundred thousand Naira (N400, 000) only.
DSP Elkana said that the suspects has confessed to the commission of crime and will be charged to Court after the conclusion of investigation.
