There was a bloody gun battle between the operatives of the Lagos State Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS and a gang of armed robbers at the weekend at a popular hotel in Mushin Lagos with two of the bandits dying in the process.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the seven-man armed gang invaded the hotel located at Idi Oro area of Mushin and was robbing both the hotel staff and their guests before the SARS team moved in there and an exchange of gunfire ensued.
The SARS, our correspondent gathered, was able to repel their attack and foiled their operation with two of the robbers shot dead while the remaining five fled.
One of the dead suspected robbers was identified as Ahmed, popularly known as, For Sale and resides in Orisumbare area of Ejigbo in Lagos.
The late Ahmed resided at Iya Metta Close in Orisumbare from where he went for the operation in the evening of Last Friday and died during the shot out.
When our correspondent visited Ahmed residence in Orisumbare, the residents confirmed the incident.
They also expressed surprised on what happened and said Ahmed was well known as a panel beater in the area and they did not know he was into crime.
Meanwhile, P.MEXPRESS learnt that the police have intesified efforts to arrest other escaped suspects in their various hideouts.
