It was a black Sunday along Benin/ Ore Expressway as robbers blocked the road and robbed motorists plying the highway one after the other.

The robbers reportedly cut a tree, used the log to block the highway and started robbing motorists at gunpoint.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that many motorists were robbed and vehicles had both minor and serious accidents while trying to escape leaving many passengers injured.
The operation was said to have lasted for several minutes before the information go to the Police. The Police detailed operatives of Special Anti-Robbery Squad who engaged the robbers in exchange of gunfire on the highway before the robbers fled into the bush.

An eye witness said that he boarded a bus from Asaba to Lagos before they ran into the robbers. He said that their driver stopped, ran into the bush and the passengers followed him. In the process, many sustained injuries in the confusion that arose in the bush.
It was confirmed on the social media by another Nigerian, who shared his encounter on Sunday along Benin/Ore expressway, after robbers came out from nowhere and started robbing motorists.
He shared a video of the terrifying moment, which he took from a distance, as the robbers were exchanging bullets with SARS Operatives. He wrote, “Driving along Benin /Ore expressway today…drove into them boys. Was able to make few minutes video before the bullets took over everywhere….. Yahweh protects!!!!
According to the video, some travelers were seen and heard telling each other to lie flat inside the gutter.
Some of the passengers who survived the attack thanked the Police for their intervention which may have saved many lives that day.
However, they urged the Police to monitor the activities of the robbers on that highway because it was not the first time such incident had happened.
