The battle between the President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State, Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene and the self acclaimed Ohanaeze leader, Chief Sunday Ossai, may have taken another dimension.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the Chairman of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in lkoyi/ Obalende LCDA, Chief Victor Uwandu Amaso, has declared that there will be no space for illegal Ohanaeze in Lagos because the Police will fully enforce the Lagos State High Court judgment in favour of the President, Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene.
Chief Amaso stated this on the heels of  Police investigation going on at the Force CID, Annex in Alagbon,Lagos.
Chief Ossai and his cohorts are being investigated by the Police over the allegations of impersonation and operating an illegal Ohanaeze in the State.
Chief Amaso stated that members of Ohanaeze Ndigbo led by Chief Aguene have been enjoined to remain vigilant and watch any individual or group in their area, Local Government and LCDAs parading themselves or holding meetings as Ohanaeze Ndigbo outside the leadership of Chief Solomon Aguene; that they should be reported to the nearest Police station and inform the secretariat in order to ensure such individuals or group will be prosecuted.
Chief Amaso explained that it was the decision of Ohanaeze Ndigbo led by Chief Aguene comprising Chairmen of Local Government and LCDAs in the State.
He stated that the Nigeria Police was set to enforce the Lagos State High Court consent judgment, which declared Chief Solomon Aguene the President of Ohanaeze, Lagos State, till 2026.
The enforcement is as a result of the petition by Chief Aguene to the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Alagbon Annex in Lagos, against Chief Sunday Ossai for parading himself as the Ohanaeze leader in total disregard to the High Court judgement.
The Police had earlier demanded a copy of the Court judgement in order to investigate if actually it was a a valid Court judgment. And from every indication, it has been confirmed that the judgement of Justice L.A.M Folami of the Lagos State High Court was subsisting and valid because it was not vacated by any Court in Nigeria.
Based on the judgment, the authentic Ohanaeze Ndigbo led by Chief Aguene wants enforcement and prosecution of any group parading an illegal Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Lagos State.
Therefore, Chief Ossai and members of his group may likely be charged for disobedience of Court order under the Criminal Laws of the State for forming an illegal Ohanaeze in total disregard to Court consent judgment.
The enforcement may likely cut across the Local Government Areas and LCDAs in the State because Chief Sunday Ossai was said to have created his own factions on some LCDAs and LGAs in the State.
