Police Uncover Home Where Kids Were Sold And Bought

Police detectives at the Gender Section of the Ikeja Command have uncovered a home where children were allegedly bought and sold as goods in Lagos.

The home known as Little Angels was located at 17 Atoke Avenue in Isheri area of Igando, Lagos where the syndicate used as their office.

P.M.EXPRESS confirmed that at least eight children aged between 1-10 years were rescued as they were kept in servitude waiting for buyers.

It was gathered that the home had been used to sell and buy babies for those who needed kids for different purposes and the residents were aware of the activities of the home before the police discovered.

Pregnant young girls were also said to have been kept there and when they were delivered of their babies, the mothers will be settled, the babies taken away from them and sold to unidentified customers. They have been carrying out their human business transactions before the police got information, stormed the place and rescued the victims.

The owner of the home, 49-year old  Mrs. Faith George has been arrested and charged before Ikeja Magistrates court for allegedly operating an illegal home with the view of trading children.

She pleaded not guilty.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. Sule Amzat granted the suspect bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The prosecutor, Inspector Benson Emuerhi did not object her bail condition but informed the court that the victims were rescued at the home.

She was remanded in prison custody pending when she will perfect her bail condition.

Meanwhile, P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the police have shut down the home and it has stopped operations.

When our correspondent visited the place, the residents confirmed the illegal activities that had been on at the home but said that it had ceased to operate after the police raided the place and their customers stopped coming.
