“Mazi you are moving against people’s passion, those on this movement are young people who are frustrated with the system, and want to make a change”.

This is often the remark I get from persons hold the transient Obidient wave in my region in absolute terms. The excitement is valid in the light of the quality of noise the movement provides for boisterous young people who dread nothing else but the cancel culture that comes with standing different.

I often tell them “do not use your passion to tension my passion”. Some of the absolute terms that form the bulk of the Obidient’s Creed are;

— ALL Christians will vote Obi
— ALL young people are with Obi
— ALL none Fulani will vote Obi in the North.
— ALL ndi Igbo are for Obi
— Anyone not supporting Obi does not wish Nigeria well.

You may wish to add your own.

What this shows is the non-clear thinking of the nouveau politicians who do not see politics beyond the buzz of social media.

While we accept that “the people” will decide and structures are meaningless in this new experiment, we also want to ask why Obi begged Gov. Wike to tell “his people” to vote for him to go to Abuja in exchange for hundred of Labour party’s other candidates who seek to be elected into various political offices next year. Yet, no APC governor in about 23 states of the federation has moved away from the APC, when will Obi beg those ones too, and will they accept his horse-trading offer? Even the PDP “intigrity” Governors are still too afraid to openly endorse the raucous Obidient train – “You think say dem be Mumu?”

Apart from Nasarawa and Jos, the Obidient harmattan does not look like it will be intense further North, as even the Southwest except Lagos is yet to feel the heat of the ginger.

Obi’s end game will be a repeat of the 2011, 2015 and 2019 southeast political mistake. We Move regardless!
