I’ve always matched my political interest with requisite action. From Imo my home State to Anambra my State of residence, it has been, for me, a vocation I actively get involved in all its relevant processes.
Now, we have moved from terrible decisions to a certain level of realization that, somehow, politics must not be all dirty or a thoughtless process.
Few days back APGA held her Primary Election open-endedly. Yes, the party took time to wash its dirty linens in private and brought forth a brilliant outcome that has all the trappings of a democratic process.
You heard me right, disqualification is democratic as long as it affords the Party internal stability in line with her set rules.
Today, the APC and the PDP are playing out similar scripts, the type of politicking some may fancy for its pecuniary benefits, but resent for many other odious reasons. APGA saw far and nipped such shenanigans in the bud.
Dapo Abiodun, I hear, is already playing Gulak. This is not so different from the Edo story too. The Direct Primary system of Nomination of the APC has become synonymous with deceit. For the PDP? We simply say, “as usual”.
In all, I say a BIG Congratulations to APGA.
