Pregnant Victoria Akarigbo who stabbed her neighbour

A 30-year old pregnant woman, Victoria Akarigbo has been arrested and charged before a Lagos court and  was remanded in prison for stabbing her female co-tenant, Favour Esther over a minor disagreement.
The incident happened at 6 Musa Close, Abule Odu in Idimu, Lagos where they both reside.
Ondo State-born Victoria allegedly broke a bottle, stabbed Esther on her shoulder and causing her serious injury. As she bled profusely, she was rushed to a hospital for treatment.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Victoria and Esther had disagreement earlier as the former was leaving for morning Church service and promised to deal with her when she return from service.
According to one of their neighbours, immediately Victoria returned from church, she went straight to Esther’s apartment and knocked at her door to come out. Unknown to Esther, her rival Victoria had planned to attack her.

When she came out, Victoria used a broken bottle she had with her and stabbed the victims who managed to run away. However, Esther had suffered serious injury.
The matter was reported to the police at Idimu Division. Victoria was later arrested and taken to the station.
She was charged before Magistrate’s court sitting in Ejigbo with the alleged offence under the Criminal Code.

Victoria pleaded not guilty.

The presiding Magistrate, Mrs J.O.E Adeyemi granted her bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Victoria informed the court that she was seven-month pregnant, pleading to the court to consider her condition and as such cannot go to prison. But her plea was not granted as she was remanded in prison custody pending when she will perfect her bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 28 November 2016.
