President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated Ambassador Sunday Dogonyaro, former Nigeria’s Ambassador to Sao Tome and Principe, on the occasion of his 70th birthday.
The President joined family, friends and well-wishers in celebrating one of the country’s finest diplomats, who served in several Nigerian missions including the United Kingdom and South Africa before retiring meritoriously as a public servant.
The President recognized Ambassador Dogonyaro’s outstanding contributions to the Nigerian Foreign Service and passion for the development of Africa, exemplified during his tour of duty as the former Ambassador and Coordinator of Programmes for New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) Secretariat in Midrand, South Africa.
A recipient of the national honour of Officer, Order of the Niger (OON), the President commended the strategic thinker, management expert, trainer and co-founder of African Policy Research Institute, a private think tank on public policy, for religiously carrying on with the patriotic task of mentoring young people in his area of competence, experience and vocation.
The President prayed that the Zuru-born diplomat enjoys more years of health and happiness in the service of God and humanity.
