Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha should not wait to be told that a pressure group is not a political party. According to the leaders of a certain group, a political party is just a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) — to be used and dumped at will.
Imo, our dear State is in spirit and soul an APGA enclave — a party that has evolved a political identity for a people on the crevice of political extinction. There is a message from APGA to the rest of the country, and that message is rooted on welfarism. Our focus as a party is on the people and their welfare; the ordinary people who deserve the extraordinary things of life by the mere fact that they are humans.
Across all major administrations of APGA, the people have taken center stage… His Excellency Senator Rochas Okorocha rode on his “My people, my people” mantra until his untimely foray into a “centre” that refused to hold for him. He remains a lesson for all those shouting their voice hoarse that they must “connect the Southeast to the centre”.
If the Southeast must succeed at the larger Nigerian political sphere, we must sustain a true political party and not an SPV or a pressure group. That political party is APGA. Let no one deceive you about this.
As a member of my home federal constituency and politician from my zone, I will be waiting to receive Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha into the foremost Progressives party in Nigeria and the beacon of Southeast political identity — APGA!!!
