Priestly Apostasy: Why The Fathers Of The Church Should Worry About Ebube Muonso And His Likes

_”If the foundations are destroyed, What can the righteous do?”_
*Psalms 11:3*
New King James Version (NKJV)
Commercialized clergy is as old as religion itself. Christ himself attempted to bring some sanity when he expressed holy anger at the synagogue using a whip. Today, the aberration has taken a more debilitating twist where members of the clergy now tilt towards the highest bidder or prophecy “popular opinion”, no matter how uncautionable. The intent has remained for self gratification and lost for avarice.
With this two deeply in place in any clergy, the apostolic mandate for which they were called is sure to suffer huge setbacks such that the very foundations of the Christian faith pays the ultimate price as many hitherto faithfuls turn apostates, and more crudely resort back to idolatry.
This trend should bother the Fathers of the church much more than the quest for control over political actors. The Southeast is a locus-classicus where there is so much physical structure of the church with too many apostates who have converted the house of God to a fortress for Social and political opportunism. If the so called shepherds have turned derelicts what then shall the flocks do?
The continued meddling of the Catholic Priest, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obimma (a.k.a Ebube Muonso) into open political vendetta is a recipe for mass apostasy. This becomes even worse where the interest of the church is meshed into temporal things where rot and moth can easily corrupt. Thus, making it unnecessary to treasure the things of the spirit.
Ebube Muonso is one of those commercialized clergy men who has abandoned the work of Faith to provide political  protection for those who pander to his caprices. To think that the Fathers of the church would allow these rabid apostolic insanity is one dramatic irony that calls for deep introspection on the future of the church. Ebube Muonso would continue to prophecy popular opinion and court the attention of those who wish to negotiate his influence; but for practicing Catholics who look up to Christ, it is no-brainer to state that Fr. Obimma is an Apostate in need of salvation. Regardless of his priestly authority, he has become too temporal that his flocks need to be rescued from his manipulations by those under whose authority he operates.
I am certain Soludo would not patronize the errant Priest, not now, not in the future. In one of his many “business sessions” (note, what does in Uke cannot be qualified as a Catholic Mass), prior to the 2021 Anambra Governorship election, Ebube Muonso left a probabilistic declaration, in his words, “the next Anambra State Governor is in the ark”. On that very day there were over four candidates, including the top runners. There was nothing precise from him. However, the subsequent move by his brother into the APC clearly showed the actual direction of his conjecture which turned out a huge failure. Where then did he anoint or announce Soludo’s emergence?
It is understandable for some Igbos to show manifest sympathy for Peter Obi’s candidature. However, it is only politically correct to tolerate dissent and opposing views. More so, where politics divides us all, the house of God and faith in Christ should unite us. It  is sad that persons who should represent the umpires of our faith now take open and pronounced stands when two sheep of same flocks lock horns. In this regard, Ebube Muonso and other apostate Priests like him have failed. Yet, we wonder why a preponderant number of our young people are leading the resurgence of idolatry.
May God help His Church and bring judgment upon all who call his name in vain!
