In a dramatic turn of events, an All Progressive Congress (APC ) Chieftain, Prince Nixon Okwara, has officially joined the race for the Federal House of Representatives, Oshodi/Isolo Constituency 2 in Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Prince Okwara’s announcement came after the Igbo stakeholders “ambushed” him, urging him to contest.
The stakeholders praised Okwara as passionate, committed, and connected to the people.
He was caught off guard but accepted the challenge, citing the constituency’s ecological issues, flooding, poor infrastructure, and youth unemployment.
Okwara promised not to disappoint if nominated and elected.
He appointed Chief Monday Akunna as the campaign coordinator, with stakeholders pledging moral and financial support.
The campaign’s slogan is “PNO” (Prince Nixon Okwara), with the response “In God we trust.”
Prince Okwara’s candidacy has sparked excitement, focusing on job creation, infrastructure, education, and healthcare.
His surprise entry has energized the race, with supporters predicting a strong showing. Ndigbo are mobilizing for voter registration and APC membership in the constituency.
Okwara, a detribalized Nigerian, does not segregate along ethnic lines, earning support from other ethnic groups. His community-driven approach resonates with voters.
