Property Magnate, Olu Okeowo, Banned By Lagos Polo Club Over Assault

Real estate magnate, Sir Olu Okeowo has been banned from entry into the Lagos Polo Club premises, either as a guest or otherwise until further notice over an assault on the member of staff of the elite club.

In a statement Wednesday signed by Mr. Adeyemi Oreagba, the Honourable Secretary of the premier African polo club, the billionaire socialite was axed after a security personnel attached to him violently assaulted one of the staff while performing his duty last Saturday during the Reminisce Event held at the club premises in Ikoyi, Lagos.

According to the Club scribe, this action of the security personnel of the Chairman of Gibraltar Group negates one of the club’s main ground rules and thus ban Okeowo from entry into the club premises, either as a guest or otherwise until further notice.

ASSAULT ON MEMBER OF OUR STAFF

 

Dear Members,

 

The Main Committee wishes to inform members that during the Reminisce Event held at the Club on Saturday, 18th October 2025, a member of our staff while performing his duty was assaulted by the security personnel of a guest.

The matter was promptly brought to the attention of the Main Committee. The committee have since engaged the persons involved as well as other members present and duly confirmed its occurrence.

In view of this, the Committee has resolved to ban the guest “Chief Olu Okeowo” from entry into the club premises, either as a guest or otherwise until further notice.

Members are reminded that the conduct and actions of their guests, security personnel, domestic staff, and associates within the Club premises remain their responsibility.

The Club places great importance on the welfare and dignity of all Club staff, who are duly empowered to enforce Club policies.

We therefore request the continued cooperation and understanding of all members in upholding the standards and values of our Club.

We will have zero tolerance on any form of assault by members and guests against any staff of the club.
