Police operatives from the Lagos State Command have arrested a 60-year old popular cleric, Prophet Bishop Olu Richard, after he was allegedly caught having sex with his member’s 10-year old girl inside the premises of his Church.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Babatunde Street, Bank Bus Stop, Ijegun area of Lagos, where the Church is located and he resides with some Church members.

He was arrested after the girl revealed what happened to her to the Police at Isheri Oshun Division He was later transferred to the Gender Section of Lagos Police Command for further investigation, where the facts were eventually revealed.

According to Police sources, the Prophet, Richard, took advantage of the girl after he asked her mother to come and live in the Church premises as his member, since her husband could not take care of her and the children.

However, the gesture turned to sadness when Prophet Richard invited the girl to his own apartment within the Church premises to buy some items for him. When the innocent girl went into his apartment, he locked the door from inside, removed the girl’s pant and forcefully penetrated her. He thereafter warned her not to tell anybody what happened.

However, the trauma continued to hunt the girl and she then went and told her grandmother what Prophet Richard did to her.The grandmother raised alarm and one of the members of the community contacted a Non-Governmental Organization known as Women’s Right & Health Project, which facilitated the arrest of Prophet Richard.

He is still undergoing interrogation at the Gender Section, where more revelations were said to be coming out as it was gathered that the girl was not the only minor Prophet Richard had allegedly molested.

The wife and children especially the daughters reportedly deserted him and started living elsewhere because of his conduct despite the claim to be a Prophet.

Police sources at the Command confirmed that he would be charge before the Court for defilement, which attracts life imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty before the Court.
