A self-acclaimed cleric, identified as Prophet Sunday of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church in Agbado, Ogun State, has been arrested for using fake prophecies to trap a 21-year old lady, Blessing Aliu and engaging her in sex romp for seven months.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Prophet Sunday instilled fear in Blessing Aliu by giving her shocking prophecies when she visited his church to see her ailing sister. He warned the victim, Blessing, that she will die on her wedding day if she fails to engage in “sexual deliverance” with him.
Apart from that, Prophet Sunday claimed that any man who dared to engage in a romantic relationship with Blessing would also suffer a similar fate, which compounded the victim’s woes.
Unfortunately, on 2nd February, 2023, Blessing was reportedly abducted by Prophet Sunday and taken to an undisclosed location, where she remained for over seven months while the prophet engaged her in sex romp so as to deliver her from the impending calamity of death on her wedding day.
However, her ordeal came to an end on 5th November, 2023, when Blessing managed to escape, returned home and informed her uncle, Yusuf Aliu, about what happened. And it was Blessing’s uncle, Aliu, who promptly informed the Police about the incident.
Upon her return, Blessing disclosed her harrowing experience, revealing that the prophet took her to his family house in Ilaro area of Ogun State before forcibly engaging in multiple non-consensual sexual encounters at a hotel.
This was confirmed by the Ogun State Police Command’s spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, who stated that the suspect was in Police custody undergoing interrogation over his alleged conduct.
SP Odutola stated that the suspect has confessed to the crime during interrogation and admitted to have used the false prophecies to trap and engage her in sex romp.
“The suspect is now in custody awaiting completion of the investigations after which he will face prosecution in Court.”
“Meanwhile, in light of her traumatic experience, she has been taken to a medical facility for examination due to the signs of psychological distress she exhibited” Odutola stated.
