CYRIACUS IZUEKWE

This is not the best time for Prophet Chucks Godwin of the God’s Perfection Healing Centre, Meiran, Lagos after he got himself enmeshed in controversial fake healing testimonies during his crusades in Lagos and Ogun States.

The Enugu State born, Godwin got himself in a mess after he reportedly arranged with some paid agents at the crusades to come up to the podium to testify about his healing powers through fake testimonies to attract more members.

It was gathered that he had a paid agent who recruits some people to come to his crusades, give fake testimonies and thereafter they will be paid N3,000 per person.

P.M.EXPRESS scooped that the trick had worked for Godwin in the past and the church was actually increasing in numbers until he fell into the trap of an undercover reporter (name withheld) who caught him red handed in his deceit.

It was gathered that during the recruitment of those who will give false testimonies, the reporter was contacted and paid N3,000 for the service with other false agents.

Unknown to the agents and Godwin, they contracted the wrong person who then went deep and discovered that he was a complete fake prophet and decided to exposed his antics.

In the presence of P.M.EXPRESS reporter and other journalists, Godwin was told to his face that he was fake and was shown the money he had paid the undercover journalist for false testimonies to deceive the public. He however did not deny.

In the letter written to Godwin and sighted by our correspondent, the undercover reporter also told him how he was recruited by his agent and gave him a name which Godwin had mentioned before the congregation, who got up and gave falsely testimonies as he was taught to say before the church. Godwin was dumb founded and pleaded that the matter be resolved peacefully.

When our correspondent visited Godwin at the church located at German Aileru Street off Cole Street, Meiran, a lady told our correspondent that he was not in the church. When Godwin was later contacted on phone, he did not deny the allegation but rather he said he was trying to sort the issue out with the reporter and his organization.

Some of the residents where the church was located were said to be aware of what was going on in the church but declined to make further comment.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Godwin was previously arrested by the operatives of State Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS over a prophetic scam that involved millions of Naira. The police had then impounded two of his SUVs and recovered them as exhibits while the investigation was still going on before this current incident happened.

  • Am sure the writer post this news because the pastor did not give him money. So many things are missing, no face to corroborate the said news. And meanwhile an Igbo man destroys his fellow man because of no brown envelope. Kedu kodi

  • This report is fake because its lacks credibility and substance.
The writer supposed to mention the identity of the undercover reporter.
Another paper had counter this report this morning.

  • Those talking of credibility and ethnic go to SARS and hear more details of the prophet, what he did to his own people
