A cleric, Prophet Adeleye Akingbaso, has landed in trouble after he allegedly sneaked into his neighbour’s apartment at night and forcefully engaged their 13-year old girl in sex in the guise of deliverance.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ijadu Olorunsogo area of Ado-Ekiti in Ekiti State, where they reside.
He has been arrested by the Police operatives of the Juvenile Welfare Centre Unit of the State Criminal Investigation Department and detained in the cell where he is now undergoing interrogation over the alleged dastardly act.
This was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, DSP Abutu Sunday, who confirmed that the suspect was in custody having committed the alleged offence on 12th August, 2022 and was charged for unlawfully having carnal knowledge of the girl.
“Investigation revealed that the suspect, on noticing that the victim’s mother had left home for a vigil in the Church, sneaked into their room and committed the act, claiming that he intended to spiritually deliver the victim. He further promised to attack her spiritually if she informs her mother,” the PPRO said.
“The suspect initially absconded after committing the offence but was later arrested by the Police.
During interrogation, he confessed to the commission of the crime and will be arraigned accordingly.”
The suspect risks several years of imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty before the Court for the alleged offence but that will be after the conclusion of investigations by the Police.
