The convener of Africa’s largest online promotional items, quickkpromo.com, Mr Olubunmi Oluwadare, on Monday inaugurated free i-celebrate apps to mark Lagos State’s 50-year anniversary.

Oluwadare told newsmen at the occasion held in Ikorodu, Lagos that everybody should be involved in the success story of Lagos State, stressing that it should not be limited to only high class personalities in the state.

The i-celebrate apps were created as branded photo frames and hubs for various events and other important campaigns worldwide.

The founder of the e-commerce platform said that everyone who lives and makes a living in Lagos should be part of success story of the mega-city.

“We discovered that the ongoing 50 years celebration of Lagos, with branded outdoor campaign billboards on the streets, have only featured faces of selected celebrities, business moguls and elder statesmen.

“That limits the success story to a certain class and age-grade.’’

Oluwadare said that irrespective of ethnicity, background or status, everyone should be part of the success story of the cosmopolitan city.

“Everyone across Nigeria, the African nations and other countries of the world all have success stories to tell about Lagos.

“From any young lady or man who came all the way from other states, struggled and made it in Lagos and now owns a house in the city.

“Everyone has a success story to tell; it should not be limited to only personalities.

“This prompted our company to create this i-celebrate apps that will make everyone who has had an encounter with Lagos as a city, share their stories.

“Their stories will be shared for free on Lagos@50 branded photo frames on the apps and in turn, they will also be shared on other social media platforms.

News Agency of Nigeria, NAN reports that quickkpromo.com has also sponsored free downloads of i-celebrate apps, which are available on Google store for android & ios gadgets.

“The whole idea is for any user, irrespective of your location in the world, to be able to select pictures from their phone galleries or add images directly from their phone cameras.

“Choosing the Lagos@50 branded picture frames and saved images, as wallpaper or sharing them on popular social media platforms and be able to caption them with their various success stories.

“Social media has overtaken the conventional advertisement media, hence there is a need to incorporate technology in celebrating such an epoch event in the status of Lagos,’’ he said.

“This app has indeed encouraged virtually everyone worldwide to participate in the ongoing Lagos at 50 events, including Lagosians in the Diaspora and foreign nationals, as long as you have either an android or an ios phone.

“You can download it through https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.KpieTechnologiesiCelebarateAppOffline,’’ he said.

Also speaking, Mrs Toyin Ojewole, an employee of the e-commerce platform, urged citizens of Nigeria, Africa and other countries to download the free apps to showcase their various events, with the customised photo frames.

“Everyone should try to download it because no monetary charges apply,’’ she said.

Ojewole added that the app will be constantly upgraded to celebrate epoch events such as campaigns and other landmark events in the country.
