Radio Lagos/Eko FM To Host Building Expo 2021 From 29 March – 11 April

From 29 March through 11 April, Lagos State’s foremost and official Radio Stations, Radio Lagos/Eko FM, will hold maiden Building Expo 2021,  which is being packaged for arbiters and key players in the building industry in Lagos State.


General Manager of the radio stations, Mrs. Ago Shotonwa said at a press conference held to herald the expo inside the premises of the stations on Wednesday that the maiden Building Expo 2021 is to sustain the T.H.E.M.E.S. agenda of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, adding that it will feature state of the art, building materials, latest equipment in building technology, real estate advisory, architectural consultancy, interior decor, among other salient factors that will make building a home, attractive and affordable.

EXPRESS reports that the weeklong expo will have as its theme: Sustaining The Lagos State T.H.E.M.E.S. agenda in housing with a core mandate to provide “Affordable Housing For All.”, while it will also be organised with strict adherence to COVID-19 preventive protocols at the  Radio Lagos/Eko FM Arena on Lateef Jakande Road, Agidingbi, Ikeja.


Speaking in company of the Chairman of the Planning Committee of the Expo, Mr. Kayode Adumadeyin and other members of the Committee, Mrs. Shotonwa said: ” we are hoping that this Fair will create a level playing ground for Lagosians to have access to quality and affordable choices, from land, to structure to materials and even interiors.


“Unarguably, we believe quality materials and due diligence will also help forestall building mishaps that intermittently plague pages of newspapers headlines and bulletins.”


She said that it will be a win-win situation for all the attendees and participants “For esteemed exhibitors, this exhibition will not only bring you closer to your customers, but grant your revered brand unprecedented exposure before other players in the industry including the Lagos State Government.


“We want to invite exhibitors across the country to take advantage of this exhibition to leverage on the  numerous opportunities this Fair will offer you and your brand.”


According to the General Manager Radio Lagos/Eko FM, the inherent opportunities the exhibitors will get include but not limited to “brand mentioning across our various belts of programming on both stations, On-Air interview before, during and after the exhibition, conspicuous brand logo placement on all printed materials and souvenirs, dedicated space for standing agency/brand names at the exhibition and strategic meeting/networking (B2B) with other stakeholders and customers.”


The General Manager, however, disclosed that the opening ceremony will be held on 29 March, 2021 by 10am prompt under the chairmanship of Dr. Oluwafemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu. The opening day will see Engr. (Dr.) Oyelade, a Civil and Environmental Engineer from the University of Lagos delivering a lecture titled: “Building Materials in Lagos State: Access and Assessment.”

Chairman of the Planning Committee, Mr. Adumadeyin told the newsmen at the briefing that the organisers planned a customer-friendly expo with little cost burden on the exhibitors and more opportunities to be taken away from the event.


“This is the first edition, and because of COVID-19 pandemic, we are organising a modest expo. We are having a good number of exhibitors that have shown interests. The exhibition will be an eye opener and educative to all the stakeholders and most especially the public because this building sector of the economy concerns all Nigerians and this expo cannot but come at this crucial period of our nation,” he said.
