Real Madrid have picked between transfers for Chelsea and Liverpool stars Eden Hazard and Mohamed Salah, according to reports in Spain.
Real Madrid have been tipped to raid both Chelsea and Liverpool as they plot a fourth consecutive Champions League triumph. Though Zinedine Zidane is no longer in charge, Los Blancos are aiming for more success under new boss Julen Lopetegui.
Real Madrid know they require more stardust if they are to wrestle the La Liga crown back from Barcelona, having finished a huge 17 points behind them last term. And Spanish outlet Don Balon say they would now prefer to sign Hazard than Salah.
Both men are currently on international duty at the World Cup in Russia. Hazard blossomed for Belgium last night, with the Chelsea star shining in a 3-0 victory over Panama. Salah, however, failed to make it off the bench for Egypt in their 1-0 defeat to Uruguay.
The Liverpool star was not risked by his nation after injuring his shoulder in their Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid. And Don Balon say that Hazard, and not the Reds forward, is Real’s top target.
The Chelsea star’s future at Stamford Bridge is thought to hinge on what happens regarding manager Antonio Conte. And, speaking yesterday, the Blues talisman flirted with a move to the Bernabeu.
“I wait to see whether the [Chelsea] coach will stay or leave,” Hazard told L’Equipe.
“If I stay it’s for the club to be better than last season.
“I don’t want to stay for us to be poorer.
“Real Madrid could interest me, the world knows that. But if tomorrow this club does not want me any longer then we will not speak about it any longer.
“If they want to buy me they know what they need to do. I don’t want to go there just for the sake of it. There needs to be a project.
“There is still a project at Chelsea [two years left on his contract]. If I have a good World Cup, things will become easier.”
