Tragedy struck on Sunday morning after the pastor of the Redeemed Church of God Mission, RCGM, Fingers of God Parish, Ikorodu, Pastor Victor Kanayo, was found dead in the pool of his blood inside his apartment.
The pastor died with his face seriously butchered by unidentified gunmen in his residence.
The incident happened in the early hours of the morning but the corpse was discovered at about 7am at Offin, Igbogbo in the suburb of Ikorodu, Lagos where he resided.
According to the new Police Public Relation officer PPRO, SP Chike Oti, the victim was found dead with his butchered body in his room. When their neighbours discovered what happened, they went to the police, reported the incident, the corpse was retrieved and deposited at the mortuary for autopsy report.
Oti said the Commissioner of Police has dispatched a team of detectives to the area to fish out those behind the dastardly act.
Oti also said that the CP has directed that the officers should also investigate his past before he became born again to ascertain any correlation between his past and his fate.
The police discovered that a tattoo was drawn with an inscription of the human skull and marked at the right side of his arm on his body. It raised initial suspicious on the manner of his death.
P.M.EXPRESS scooped that some couple of arrests had been made by the police for questioning in order to unravel those behind such act.
The PRO did not disclose the identity of those arrested in connection to the crime. It was said the suspects were detained at an undisclosed police location where they were undergoing interrogations.
