Remains Of Alhaji Bashir Tofa Laid To Rest

The remains of the former Presidential Candidate of the defunct National Republican Convention, NRC, in the June 12, 1993 election, Alhaji Bashir Othman Tofa, who died in the early hours of Monday, have been laid to rest.

The burial, in conformity with the Islamic practice, took place in Kano.

Alhaji Tofa in 1993 had contested alongside his opponent, Social Democratic Party (SDP) Presidential candidate, late Chief Mashood Abiola, in the election which was eventually annulled by the former Nigeria Military Head of State, General Ibrahim Babangida
