A 23-year old man, Mr. Folarin Ahmed, shocked residents and did what seemed unthinkable after he was reportedly caught engaging an 18-year old teenager in a sex romp under a popular bridge in Lagos.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that after Folarin was caught, the residents forced him to remove his joystick from the victim’s private part and then handed him over to the police at Ijora Division, Lagos.
The incident happened on 24th June, 2018, under the Ijora Bridge in Lagos where he had accosted the victim in the evening, forcefully tore her pant and penetrated her after intimidating her with threats.
However, the people around who saw them intervened, rescued the victim and handed the suspect to the police.
The matter was transferred to the Gender Section of the Police Command where they investigated the matter. There, the victim revealed what happened; how the suspect assaulted her and forced her into the romp without her consent.
It was also gathered that Folarin admitted that he penetrated her but claimed that he did not force her as she had alleged.
The police found him culpable and charged him before Ogba Magistrates court for sexual assault.
He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Mr. Christopher Donny, asked the court to use its discretion if the court was considering granting him bail. However, he was not granted bail.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. Peter Nwaka, ordered him to be remanded in prison custody and adjourned the matter till 13th August, 2018, when the issue of his bail will be considered.
