A 1999 retiree from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and still awaiting his pension, Mr. Yahaya Aranugu Sule has cried out to the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN to come to his rescue and reverse his illegal ejection from his government-allocated flat on 31 Road, C Close, House 11, Gowon Housing Estate, Ipaja, Lagos.

Speaking on his dilemma, Sule stated that he was duly allocated the flat when he retired in 1999 after serving meritoriously for 25 years in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with documents to live till government pays his pensions but that he is surprised that he had been fraudulently ejected from the flat in May, 2017 while still awaiting his pension by a property speculator, Mr. Ogunuku and his accomplices.

The distraught man then appeal to the honourable minister Fashola to urgently come to his rescue as he is now sleeping outside with his seven children with properties scattered outside.

Sule narrated of his ordeals, “I retired from Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1999 after serving for 25 years due to psychiatric health challenges and I was allocated the flat at Gowon Estate, Ipaja, Lagos to live till Government pays my pensions”

“In 2006 while I was in the hospital, one Ogunuke who was then in charge of housing in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs relocated my family to another flat on 412 Road, Block 4, First Avenue in the same Gowon Estate, Ipaja, Lagos with the excuse that Government want to renovate my flat. But I was surprised in 2014 when one Mr. Adeyemi Araoye came to my flat and said he had purchased my flat from Federal Government of Nigeria for N1.6m but he did not show me any document as proof.

“I was shocked in the month of May 2017 while in the hospital for psychiatric treatment, court officials came to throw out my properties outside on the excuse that Mr. Adeyemi Araoye had bought my flat. I am now appealing to Mr. Babatunde Fashola to come to my rescue as I am now sleeping outside with my seven children and health challenges.

“I am also appealing to Mr. Fashola to investigate Mr. Ogunuku as he has sold almost all the government flats on Gowon Estate at Ipaja and Egbeda to his friends and associates and to find out if the proceeds ended up in government coffer.

All efforts by PMEXPRESS to see Mr. Ogunuku and Mr. Adeyemi Araoye proved abortive but our correspondent was able to speak with Mr. Araoye’s legal adviser who promised to get back for detail information on the matter.
