In what appeared to be a revenge mission, a 38-year old man, Tunde Bankole has allegedly raped his neighbour’s 36-year old wife in Lagos.
He was arrested and charged before a Lagos court. The incident happened at True Crescent in Oko-Oba area of Agege, Lagos where they reside.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Bankole reportedly had a quarrel with the victim’s husband and he later decided to hit back at the husband by allegedly raping his wife.
It was gathered that the suspect sneaked into the victim’s apartment when her husband was not around with two kitchen knives and threatened to kill her if she refused his directives.
He reportedly ordered her to her matrimonial bed, forced her to remove her clothes including her pant and open her legs.
According to the police sources, the victim complied because of the threat and Bankole penetrated her to his satisfaction, collected her wedding ring and left.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the victim later told her husband what happened when he was around and the matter was reported to the Police at Isokoko division who arrested Bankole.
At the police station, P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Bankole admitted that he had carnal knowledge of the victim but insisted that it was with her consent.
However, he was unable to explain what he was doing with the knives he reportedly used in threatening the victim.
He was charged before Ogba Magistrates court for the alleged rape. He pleaded not guilty.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr T.O. Shomade granted him bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in the like sum.
Bankole was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
