The tourney, which kicked off a month ago, was put together by vibrant Estate youth headed by Oluwaseun Adekoya. The tourney according to the organizers was organized to keep youth together during the yuletide period.

Speaking ahead of the final, Adekoya told journalists that the competition had recorded tremendous achievements considering the fact that all the matches were handled by certified referees from Lagos State Referees Council and hundreds of football fans were impressed with the standard of the participating teams and organization of the grassroots football competition.

“We thank God that we are in the final stage. When we started the competition, we were thinking that how could we impress football fans but the comments we are getting from fans now showed that we have done well in the area of organization, officiating and security. I think this year’s edition is better off than last year,” he said.

Adekoya expressed gratitude to members of the organizing committee for their commitment and dedication throughout the competition and urged other sport philanthropists in the Estate and its environs to assist them to organize befitting and colourful closing ceremony.

“We need money to put few things in place now ahead of the final and I want to use this medium to thank those who have helped us before and we are also looking forward to those who promised us to redeem their pledges. I wish the two finalist best of luck and thank football fans for their support throughout the competition,” he said.
