A human rights activist and President of Ambassadors for Peace and Enlightenment Foundation, AMPEF, Comrade Saviour Iche, has lambasted the wife of the Enugu State Governor, Mrs. Nkechinyere Mbah, over her alleged involvement in the reopening of Tender Links School, where the owner, Mrs. Ngozi Adebeatu, employed a lesbian teacher, Nnenna Favour Okoro, who defiled a 3-year old girl inside the school.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that in the video making rounds on the internet, a representative sent by Mrs. Mbah to reopen the school was seen not minding that it was shut down over the defilement of a pupil and some other innocent girls in the school.
Tender Links School was closed and later reopened on 11th December, 2023, following an alleged complicity with the owner, Mrs. Adebeatu and the teacher, Nnenna Okoro, which triggered public outbursts.
Reacting on the issue, the AMPEF boss, Comrade Iche, maintained an unwavering stance in defence of the victim and revealed that the since the incident happened, the victim has been bleeding from her private part and her womb may have been affected due to the dastardly act.
He regretted that despite the condition of the victim and family, neither the owner of the school nor the Enugu State Government has shown any sympathy to the victim and family only for the wife of the Governor to order for the reopening of the school as was shown in the video through the Ministry of Education.
Comrade Iche asked: “Where part of the law or constitution allows the wife of a sitting governor to take decisions over the affairs of the State by instructing the Commissioner to do her biddings in sensitive matters such as this? Is she really aware of the defilement situation leading to shut down of Tender Link School? If yes, What steps has she taken to cushion the grief by way of visiting the victim?”
An embittered Ichie stated that there is the possibility that the Governor’s wife, Nkechinyere Mbah, was aware of the bizarre actions perpetrated and still ordered a reopening of the school instead of aiding the course of justice for the little girl.
Comrade Prince Saviour Iche, who is the founder of the voice of the voiceless, AMPEF, alongside other rights groups, is demanding that the Governor’s wife Nkechiyere Mbah, should come out, clear her name, also demand an immediate arrest of the Proprietress of Tender Link School for her culpability in the conspiracy to truncate justice in the matter.
Meanwhile, the matter, which was earlier adjourned till 13th December, 2023, could not hold because the Court did not sit and it was adjourned for the trial of the defendant.
