Social critic and human rights activist, Comrade Vincent Ezekwueme, has commended Governor Willie Obiano over the construction of the new Cargo Airport in Anambra State.

P.M.EXPRESS reports as disclosed by Ezekwueme, who is also the Chairman of Civil Liberty Organisation, Anambra State.

He described the testing and first aircraft landing at Anambra International Passenger and Cargo Airport at Umueri as not only a landmark achievement but the greatest democratic dividend and most cherished project bequeathed to posterity by Obiano’s administration.

He noted that the Airport Project was timely in view of the irrefutable fact that the citizens of the state are about the most travelled in the country.

For the Airport to achieved its full purpose of tackling unemployment, creating wealth, reducing youth restiveness, reducing excruciating pains suffered by citizens, reducing cost of goods and services and bringing unprecedented social economic development and growth of the state, southeast and Nigeria, Comrade Ezekwueme urged that concerted and urgent efforts should be made towards rehabilitating Federal Housing, 3-3, Aguleri-Otuocha Road, which leads to the Airport and as well as provision of adequate security to the state.
“I commend the Minister of Aviation, Federal Airport Aviation Authority and all relevant Government agencies that made the project a reality.”

“I extol Air Peace Chairman, Barr. Allen Onyema, for his patriotism and selfless sacrifices towards the success of the project especially for ensuring that his Aircraft was the first flight to land at the Airport and also for freely airlifting Nigerians stranded in South Africa due to Xenophobia attack.”

Ezekwueme urged Air Peace, United Airline and others to make the Airport robust and beehive of activities by routing their Aircrafts to Anambra International Cargo  Airport.

“I thought that the Airport Project was the usual political statement, but to my greatest surprise, the project was completed beyond expectations. I appeal to our political leaders to tackle people’s oriented projects the way Anambra Airport was accomplished” Ezekwueme posited.
