Rite Foods Limited has announced the expansion of its beverage portfolio with the launch of LIDA Malt Classic, a new non-alcoholic malt beverage into the Nigerian market.

The new product, which is anchored on the proposition “LIDA Malt. Made for You,” was formally introduced to the media during an immersion programme held at the company’s manufacturing facility in Ososa, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, on October 15, 2026.

According to the company, LIDA Malt Classic is positioned to offer consumers an additional choice in Nigeria’s highly competitive malt drink segment, with a focus on quality, accessibility and everyday consumption.

The media immersion programme brought together journalists and content creators who were taken through the production process and the brand’s market positioning. The event also provided insights into Rite Foods’ manufacturing operations and its broader beverage strategy.

Speaking during the programme, the Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at Rite Foods Limited, Ekuma Eze, said the introduction of LIDA Malt reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to product development and consumer-focused innovation.

He explained that the new malt drink is designed to complement everyday occasions, ranging from meals and social gatherings to moments of relaxation and personal refreshment.

Currently, LIDA Malt is available in its Classic variant and packaged in polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles. The company says the product represents another step in its efforts to deepen its presence in the beverage market through locally manufactured products.

Commenting on the launch, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Rite Foods Limited, Seleem Adegunwa, said the addition of LIDA Malt to the company’s portfolio underscores its drive for innovation and responsiveness to evolving consumer expectations.

He noted that Rite Foods will continue to explore opportunities to strengthen its portfolio with products that combine quality, consumer relevance and distinctive propositions.

Also speaking, the Head of Marketing at Rite Foods Limited, Toyin Nnodi, said the brand was developed with a clear understanding of consumer lifestyle and preferences.

According to her, “LIDA Malt was developed with the consumer in mind. We understand that people want quality products that fit their preferences and everyday routines. With LIDA Malt Classic, we are introducing an offering built around that understanding. Our ‘Made for You’ proposition reflects our commitment to keeping consumers at the heart of what we do.”

Nnodi added that the launch demonstrates the company’s focus on understanding changing consumer needs and delivering products that respond to them.

With this introduction, LIDA Malt joins Rite Foods’ existing beverage portfolio, which includes Bigi Carbonated Soft Drinks, available in 13 variants, Bigi Premium Drinking Water, Sosa Fruit Drink with five variants, and Fearless Energy Drink. The company also produces Rite Spicy Beef Sausage, Bigi Beef and Bigi Flex Sausages.

Beyond products, the company said it continues to invest in operational efficiency and sustainability. During the factory tour, Eze disclosed that about 95 per cent of the company’s energy consumption is derived from natural gas and solar power, while diesel accounts for the remaining five per cent, as part of measures to support productivity and business continuity.
