Rivers LG Election: Political Actors Should Play By The Rules – Snr. Comrade Ibe

Respected leader of the Niger Delta socio-cultural group, Orashi National Congress, Amb Comrade Emeni Ibe AP JP, has called on political actors and Chairmanship candidates for the forthcoming Local Government elections in Rivers State to prioritize the security of lives and property and provision of electricity.
Snr. Comrade Amb Emeni Ibe, who is also the National President of the Southern Youth Foundation of Nigeria, made this call while at the campaign ground of the Action Peoples Party (APP) in Ahoada East in Ahoada playground as they seek the votes of the people.
He charged the APP Chairmanship candidate, Hon Rizzy Chibudhom Ezu, Councillorship candidates of the Action Peoples Party (APP) to make security of lives and property and payment of electricity bills for the people their top priority.
It will be recalled that the leadership of the Orashi National Congress had highlighted same issues at the end of their general meeting held recently asking the local government authorities to ensure the payment of electricity bills and bring succour to the people because of the harsh economic situation situation.
Amb Comrade Emeni Ibe also commended His Excellency Governor Sim Fubara”s commitment towards the LGA election in line with the Supreme Court ruling and said that the Governor needs to be supported by all.
He further seized the opportunity to appeal to all political actors and supporters of the various political parties to play by the rules in ensuring a peaceful electoral process as the Local Government election is set to hold across the state on 5th October, 2024.
Snr Comrade Ibe said that despite the counter Court injunctions, election is the beauty of democracy and any attempt to stop this election will be resisted by the Rivers people.
