Robbers Attack Worshippers At Praying Ground

It was a nasty experience for some Muslim worshippers who went to the Praying Ground as the place was invaded, they were violently attacked and robbed of their belongings by aquarium gang of robbers in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that many of the victims sustained injuries and lost their valuables during the attack.

The incident happened at the Praying Grounds located at Olorunsogo and Oyo Streets in Mushin area, Lagos, during a vigil where the worshippers had assembled.

The information got to the police operatives at Olosun Division, who moved in, repelled the robbers and arrested some of them while others escaped.

The suspects arrested were Ezekiel Adeyi,18, Akanbi Quadus,18, Lekan Oyesanya, 18, Yomi Lawal, 20 and a teenager, Musa Rasaq, 16.

After interrogation and having been found culpable by the Police, they were charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for conspiracy and stealing and were remanded in prison custody.

They pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Inspector Edet Akadu, asked the Court to give a date for hearing so that the police will prove the case against them.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mr. K.O Ogundare, granted them bail in the sum N100,000 each with one surety in like sum.

However, they were remanded in prison custody pending when they will perfect their bail conditions. The matter was adjourned 18th June, 2019.

Meanwhile, the police were said to be hunting for the other suspects involved in the attack who were said to be at large.
